Quality control of the assessment process

In the New Zealand National Qualification System there are many quality checks in place to ensure that standards are consistent. This means that someone getting a qualification or unit standard in Invercargill is at the same standard as someone getting the same qualification in Auckland.

You need to know who does what in the quality control of the assessment process so you can understand the reason for some of the things an assessor is expected to do.

 

The Candidate is assessed by an ASSESSOR		The  ASSESSOR works for an ITO or for a TRAINING PROVIDER
		The quality of the TRAINING PROVIDER'S systems is checked by an AUDITOR
The  quality of assessments is checked by a MODERATOR		MODERATION is the responsibility of the STANDARDS SETTING BODY (usually an ITO) appointed by the NZQA.
